I believe creative experiences are vital for our communities—locally and worldwide. Providing people with access to spaces where they can learn or create, whether through guided activities or free-form exploration. Sometimes, simply having a place to go and something to do can make a meaningful difference. It’s especially important that these opportunities are inclusive, accessible, and welcoming to people of all abilities who want to participate.

Youth Merchandise Design Program

A six-week creative education program was facilitated in partnership with UrbanArtsTo, focused on introducing urban youth to merchandise design and creative entrepreneurship. The program guided participants through the full process of transforming original digital artwork into tangible, sellable products, emphasizing hands-on learning and skill development.

Participants created original designs using iPads and digital tools such as Photoshop and Canva, learning foundational concepts in digital illustration, branding, and product design. Designs were then transferred onto apparel using a heat press, allowing participants to experience the production process firsthand.

The program concluded with a professional-style photoshoot, giving participants the opportunity to showcase their finished products and experience what it means to present their work as a cohesive clothing brand. The workshop aimed to empower youth by teaching them how to create with intention, develop practical creative skills, and see the potential of turning their ideas into real-world products.
